What is Incalux?
A durable gold finish designed to hold up better in higher-use applications than softer pure-gold deposits.
Incalux® is a decorative gold tone finish designed to balance appearance with wear performance for components that will be handled regularly. It’s often chosen for fixtures and hardware where a warm gold tone is desired without the high reflectivity of mirror finishes.
We offer Incalux® as a decorative finish only, with gold thickness kept to ≤0.25 µm. We’ll advise on undercoats and optional protective top coats where required.

How the Incalux finish is applied
A controlled electroplating route — with careful handling at every stage.
Prepare the substrate
Clean, degrease and prepare the base metal to achieve the correct foundation.
Apply base layers
Use suitable undercoats (often copper/nickel) for adhesion and corrosion performance.
Plate the gold system
Deposit gold to the required thickness using a controlled bath and parameters.
Finish and protect
Inspect for tone/coverage; apply optional lacquer/top coat where specified.
